So I guess one of the first of many questions you would rightly ask is……

How does my work as a Celebrant differ to other Celebrants?

Well I best described it this way…

It’s Sunday morning and you are laying in bed, cup of tea in one hand, Sunday paper in the other. You come to the social pages and see an array of gorgeous wedding photos. Each couple caught in that moment. You can pretty much assume the words spoken at their ceremony having attended weddings yourself before. How often do we hear those same words said over and over again. The ceremony is still lovely but pretty much predictable.

On the other hand, how different do you feel watching a wedding being played out on a soapy or in a movie on the big screen. Without warning you’re reaching for the tissues or hiding your face behind the pillow (it’s a girl thing…), as you can’t help but get caught up in the emotion of the moment as the wedding is played out. You still don’t know the couple but why is it you feel so much more captured in this couple’s ceremony?

The difference is, you have watched and listened throughout the movie as the writers and creators have portrayed a love story unfolding. You can see why the bride and groom are only too willing to offer all their tomorrows to this person standing beside them.

This is the difference in what I do and why my ceremonies are so unique and so special. They are created... not reproduced and not pre-written.

Each Celebrant has his or her own specialised skills they bring into their work. Mine is writing and presenting. Writing has always been a passion and a love of mine all of my life. Being a hopeless romantic has been a wonderful bonus in capturing that special something that is unique to all couples. Trying not to cry at weddings is something I am still working on!!!

The words spoken in these ceremonies are rarely spoken at another, which is quite often a lovely surprise for your attending guests to hear. On most occasions as I am packing my bag to leave the wedding, guests will come up to me and comment on how refreshingly different the ceremony was, and how beautifully I had portrayed the personalities and the relationship of the couple. I always love to hear this feedback, as I know I have managed to capture that special something they wanted portrayed in their ceremony. The weddings I officiate are fun, humorous, light hearted, romantic, sentimental, traditional – it all depends what you want portrayed on your day!!! If you're not a mushy couple - then why have a mushy ceremony?

As your Celebrant, if you so choose, we will work together in a way that gives me a wonderful insight into exactly what you are looking for on your wedding day. Your story unfolds without becoming intrusive or invasive in anyway. It is my intention to assist you in a number of ways having officiated many many weddings in the past. I have a wealth of knowledge and contacts couples find invaluable. Once we get underway, do not hesitate to pick up the phone at anytime.

I now work fulltime as a Celebrant (if you could call it work), being one of the busiest here on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland and having gained many accolades for this work. This is not something I take lightly or for granted, and am so very honored that many couples continue to provide me with this role on their wedding day. I rarely officiate more than 2 weddings a weekend as it has never been about the quantity of weddings I officiate, but more so about the quality. This is one vital aspect you should clarify if making enquiries with other Celebrants.
